The datum points of the endless communication between the past, present and future are shown with the studies carried out at the intersection of history and sociology; however, the fact that interdisciplinary fusion does not rely on methodological determinations, lays a series of issues starting from the theory-practice duality to be resolved. The main argument of this study, which aims to contribute as an analysis attempt, is to show how a text of the history of religions such as Güç, İktidar ve Kutsal can be interpreted within a methodological framework and on the ground of relational historical sociology. In this sense, rather than descriptively introduced or reviewed, the book is subjected to a different reading model at the disciplinary crossroads. The practical reason for choosing this book is the text’s illustration the ongoing dialogue between past and present clearly. While this clearness invites to push the possibilities of historical sociology and with it the sociology of religion, it gives a clue for the combination of many pieces. Based on these clues, the feasibility of relational historical sociology will be discussed in a categorization that expresses the semiotic, cognitive and actional processes of the method.
Tarih ve sosyoloji kesişiminde yapılan çalışmalarla geçmiş, bugün ve gelecek arasında bitmeyen iletişimin ağırlık noktaları gösterilmekte; fakat disiplinlerarası kaynaşmanın yöntemsel belirlenimlere yaslanmaması, teoripratik ikiliğinden başlayan bir dizi meseleyi çözümlenmek üzere önümüze koymaktadır. Bir çözümleme girişimi olarak katkı sunmayı hedefleyen bu çalışmanın temel argümanı, Güç, İktidar ve Kutsal gibi bir dinler tarihi metninin yöntemsel çerçeve içinde ve ilişkisel tarihsel sosyoloji zemininde nasıl anlamlandırılabileceğini göstermektir. Kitap bu anlamda deskriptif olarak tanıtılmaktan veya değerlendirilmekten öte, disiplinel kavşakta, farklı bir okuma modeline tabi tutulmaktadır. Bu kitabın seçilmesindeki pratik neden, metnin, dün ve bugün arasında süregelen diyaloğunu açıkça göstermesidir. Söz konusu açıklık, tarihsel sosyolojinin ve beraberinde din sosyolojisinin imkânlarını zorlamaya davet ederken birçok parçanın bileşimi için ipucu verir. Bu ipuçlarından yola çıkarak yöntemin göstergesel, zihinsel ve eylemsel süreçlerini ifade eden bir kategorizasyon içinde ilişkisel tarihsel sosyolojinin yapılabilirliği tartışılacaktır.
