Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the predictive effect of preschool
parental involvement on parent attitudes. This study was based on a relational
screening model. The study sample comprised 250 parents of children attending
pre-school education institutions in the provincial center of Uşak. Data collection
tools used during the study included the Parental Involvement Scale developed
by Fantuzzo, Tighe and Childs, and adapted to Turkish by Gürşimşek
(2003); and the Parent Attitude Scale developed by Karabulut Demir and Şendil
(2008). Based on the study results, the home-based parental involvement variable
was identified as a positive predictor of democratic attitudes among
parents, and a negative and significant predictor of authoritarian attitudes
among parents. The other sub-dimensions of parent involvement were not identified
as significant predictors of overprotective and permissive parent attitudes.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, okul öncesi aile katılımının ebeveyn tutumlarıüzerindeki yordayıcı etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada ilişkisel taramayöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklem gurubu Uşak il merkezinde okulöncesi eğitim kurumlarına devam eden 250 çocuğun ebeveynlerinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak Fantuzzo, Tighe ve Childstarafından geliştirilen ve Gürşimşek (2003) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan AileKatılım Ölçeği ve Karabulut Demir ve Şendil (2008) tarafından geliştirilenEbeveyn Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, ev temelli aile katılımı değişkeninin demokratik ana-baba tutumu üzerinde pozitif; otoriter anne-baba tutumu üzerinde ise negatif ve anlamlı bir yordayıcı olduğusaptanmıştır. Aile katılımı alt boyutlarının aşırı koruyucu ve izin verici annebaba tutumunun anlamlı yordayıcıları olmadığı bulgulanmıştır
