Abstract
Two Novels, Two Views, One Political Event: 27 May coup in the novels titled Bir Gün
Tek Başına (Alone, One Day) and İzmir’in İcinde (Inside İzmir). Fictitious world of the novel
contains traces from the real world; nevertheless it has a unique new design. Many past
social and political events in real world might form the subject of the novel. Sometimes,
more than one novelist may deal with the same subject. The aspects each novelist
mentions and brings into the light on a given subject vary in line with many reasons like
his/her perception of life, his/her vision of life etc. 27 May coup, being one of the important
events deeply affecting Turkish political life of our recent history, was taken in hand by
many authors. Vedat Turkali and Samim Kocagoz are only two of those authors. In this
study, the novels titled Bir Gün Tek Başına and İzmir’in İçinde were chosen, because both
are about the subject of 27 May coup and were written approximately at the same dates.

Abstract
“İki Roman, İki Bakış, Bir Siyasi Olay: Bir Gün Tek Başına ve İzmir’in İçinde” adlı romanlarda 27 Mayıs İhtilali. Romanın kurmaca dünyası gerçek dünyadan izler taşır, ancak kendine özgü yeni bir tasarıma sahiptir. Gerçek dünyada yaşanan pek çok sosyal ve siyasal olay romanın konusunu oluşturabilir. Kimi zaman aynı konu, birden çok yazar tarafından ele alınabilir. Her yazarın aynı konu üzerinde dünya görüşü, hayatı algılayış biçimi vb. Pek çok nedenden ötürü temas ettiği, ön plana çıkardığı unsurlar farklılık gösterir. 27 Mayıs ihtilali de yakın tarihimizin Türk siyasî yaşamını derinden etkileyen önemli bir olayı olması nedeniyle pek çok yazar tarafından işlenmiştir. Vedat Türkali ve Samim Kocagöz bu yazarlardan yalnızca ikisidir. Bu çalışmada Bir Gün Tek Başına ve İzmir’in İçinde adlı romanlar, 27 Mayıs İhtilali’ni konu edinmeleri ve aşağı yukarı aynı tarihlerde yazılıp okuyucu ile buluşmaları nedeniyle seçilmiştir
