Seroloji laboratuvarında RoseBengal Pleyt Testi için Sero-Lam Brusella RBPT Test antijeni (Seromed Biyolojik Ürünler, İstanbul,Türkiye) kullanıldı. Rose Bengal Pleyt Testi pozitif olan hastanın Brucellacapt testi yapıldı. Brucellaantikor titresini belirlemek için Metser Coombs’lu Brucella Test (MCBT) (Metserlab BiyolojikÜrünler, İstanbul, Türkiye) kullanıldı. Antikor titresi 1/320 titrede pozitif olduğunda bruselloz kabuledildi.

<p>Aim: In this study, we aimed to investigate the seropositivity of brucellosis retrospectively byevaluating serum samples of patients with suspected brucellosisMaterial and Methods: Between August 2018 and October 2019, 2630 serum samples were sent to microbiology laboratory withthe preliminary diagnosis of brucellosis. In the serology lab, a Sero-Lam RBPT Brucella antigen test was used for Rose Bengal PlateTest. Brucellacapt test was performed for the patient who was positive for Rose Bengal Plate Test. In order to determine Brucellaantibody titers, the Coombs test for Brucella (Mester, Istanbul) was used. Brucellosis was confirmed when antibody titer was positiveat 1/320 titer. The obtained data were evaluated statistically. Results: Two hundred sixty-thirty serum samples from different clinics of our hospital were included in the study. Rose Bengaltest was positive in 27 (1.03%) and Brucellacapt test in 24 (0.9%). Brucellacapt test serum samples positive at ≥1/320 titers wereconsidered as brucellosis. The prevalence of brucellosis in women was 0.36% and 0.64% in men. The distribution of prevalence bygender varies significantly (p &amp;lt;0.001). There was no statistically significant difference in the distribution of brucellosis by age groups. However, the prevalence was higher in the age group of 41 and over. The sensitivity of Rose-Bengal Test according to Brucellacapttest is 100%, specificity is 99.8%, positive predictive value is 88.8%, negative predictive value was found to be 100%.Conclusion: Brucellosis is still an endemic disease for our district. We believe that the Rose-Bengal test, which is feasible and easyto evaluate, will facilitate the diagnosis of brucellosis and provide early treatment in primary health care institutions.</p></trans-abstract>
