A Rare Cause of Respiratory Failure in Newborn: Congenital Lober Amphysema

Abstract

Congenital lobar emphysema is a rare anomaly that causes

respiratory insufficiency symptoms due to overflow of a lobe of

the lung. We present a case of lobar emphysema involving the

left upper lobe, which was brought by tachypnea, intercostal

retraction and acidosis, and which underwent emergency

lobectomy. Although congenital lobar emphysema is one of the

rare pathologies among the causes of acute respiratory failure

in childhood, it is an anomaly that must be kept in mind because

of the need for emergency lobectomy.

YENİDOĞANDA NADİR BİR SOLUNUM SIKINTISI SEBEBİ: KONJENİTAL LOBER AMFİZEM

Abstract

Konjenital lober amfizem akciğerin bir lobunun aşırı

havalanması nedeniyle solunum yetmezliği semptomlarına

neden olan nadir bir anomalidir. Takipne, interkostal çekilme ve

asidoz ile getirilen ve acil lobektomi yapılan sol üst lobu tutan

lober amfizem olgusu sunulmuştur. Konjenital lober amfizem her

ne kadar çocukluk çağındaki akut solunum yetmezliği sebepleri

arasındaki nadir patolojilerden birisi olsa da, bazen acil

lobektomi gerektirmesi nedeniyle akılda tutulması gereken bir

anomalidir.
