İHTİYAT VE CAZİBE İKİLEMİNDE TÜRKİYE’DE SPİRİTÜEL ERKEKLİKLER

Abstract

Spiritüel topluluklar ve yeni dini hareketler içinde erkeklere, kadınlara kıyasla daha az rastlanmakla birlikte, bu tür arayışlara daha önce uzak duran erkeklerin çeşitli erkeklik krizleriyle yüzleştikçe manevi arayışlarında bir artış ve çeşitlenme olduğu görülüyor. 2018-2020 arasında TÜBİTAK desteğiyle gerçekleştirdiğimiz alan araştırmasının verilerinden yola çıkan bu çalışma, Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Konya, Muğla ve Çanakkale illerinde en az üç yıldır aktif bir biçimde spiritüel arayış içerisinde olan bireylerle yapılan derinlemesine görüşmeler ve gözlemler üzerinden, Türkiye’deki spiritüel pratiklerle erkeklik arasındaki ilişkileri tartışmayı amaçlıyor. Yaptığımız derinlemesine görüşmeler ve katılımcı gözlemler, erkeklerin maneviyat arayışının büyük ölçüde kendini koruma ve yeterlilik kazanma motivasyonuyla şekillendiğini gösteriyor. Çalışma, Türkiye’de spiritüel erkeklik hallerinin bir ihtiyat ve cazibe ikileminde şekillendiğini iddia ederken; erkeklerin spiritüel tercihlerinin bizatihi kendisinin erkeklerin karşılaştıkları problemlerle yüzleşmesinin ve güçlenmesinin bir aracı olduğunu savunuyor
