Article submission process
The manuscripts prepared for publication in Marmara University Journal of Turkology should be uploaded via DergiPark platform and submitted to the journal's editorial office. All processes, including peer review, will be managed through DergiPark.
The manuscript submitted to the journal must not have been published elsewhere or submitted to another journal for publication.
Manuscript review process
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are checked by the plagiarism detection programme iThenticate. As a result, the rate of plagiarism or similarity should not exceed 25%. Articles with more than 25% plagiarism or similarity will be rejected directly by the Editorial Board.
Articles that pass the plagiarism or similarity check are subject to a preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Board according to the conditions specified in the Publication Policy. Authors are expected to correct any deficiencies identified during the preliminary review process within 14 days. Otherwise, the Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the article.
Peer review process
Manuscripts submitted to the journal for publication will not be published until they have received the favourable opinion of at least two referees, determined by the blind refereeing system, or until the corrections suggested by the referees have been fulfilled. If one of the referees gives a positive opinion and the other a negative one, the article is sent to a third referee.
The referees usually have 14 days to review the article, but this can be extended for a further 14 days if necessary. If the referees do not send the evaluation report within the specified period, the Editorial Board of the Marmara University Journal of Turkology has the right to appoint a new referee.
The time limit given to the authors to make the corrections specified in the reviewers' report is 14 days. If the author does not complete the corrections within the given period, the Editorial Board may exercise the right to reject the article.
