                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu çalışma, Rönesans’tan itibaren mimarlık bilgisinin inşa alanından ofise doğru gerçekleşen yer değiştirmesinin mimar kimliği ve mimarın rolü üzerindeki etkisini araştırmayı hedeflemektedir. Çalışmada terk edilen inşa alanına zaman zaman geri dönen mimarların şantiyede bulunma hallerinin izi yirminci yüzyılın ikinci çeyreğinden itibaren çekilen ve mimarların göründüğü şantiye fotoğrafları üzerinden sürülmüştür.İki aşamalı olarak yürütülen kapsam belirleme sürecinde ilk aşamada daha geniş olan tarihsel aralık fotoğraf biçim ve içeriklerinde bir farklılık yaşanmaması adına daha yakın tarihli uygulama örneklerinin elenmesiyle daraltılmıştır. 1930-1980 yılları arasını kapsayan bu ilk sınırlamanın ardından inşa edilen yapının şantiye fotoğrafları olduğu halde mimarın bu şantiyelerde görünmediği veya şantiyede bulunma hali tekil örnekler üzerinden incelenebilecek mimarlar araştırma dışında bırakılmıştır. Bu iki aşamalı kapsam tayininin ardından araştırma için Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), Le Corbusier (1887-1965) ve Louis Kahn’ın (1901-1974) farklı şantiyelerde çekilen fotoğrafları seçilmiş ve bu görseller üzerinden mimar kimliğinin değişimi ve mimarın şantiyede bulunma halleri incelenmiştir.Fotoğraflar üzerinden yapılan incelemeler sonucunda fotoğrafın çekilme tarihi, amacı ve kompozisyonu, mimarlarının kıyafet tercihleri, bedensel pozisyonları, taşıdığı aksesuarlar, fotoğrafta görülen diğer kişiler/bedenler ve onların pozisyonlarına göre; Frank Lloyd Wright’ın Johnson Wax Binası şantiyesinde gözlemci ve müdahil, Beth Sholom Sinagogu şantiyesinde anlatıcı-ziyaretçi, Guggenheim Müzesi şantiyesinde ise kontrolör ve rehber olarak; Le Corbusier’in Marsilya’daki Unité d’Habitation şantiyesinde müdahil ve aktarıcı/taşıyıcı, Ronchamp Şapeli şantiyesinde ziyaretçi, La Tourette manastırı şantiyesinde ise dinleyici-ziyaretçi ve gözlemci olarak; Louis Kahn’ın Hindistan Yönetim Enstitüsü, Kimbell Sanat Müzesi ve Yale Üniversitesi, İngiliz Sanat Merkezi’nden oluşan her üç şantiyede anlatıcı-ziyaretçi olarak bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir.Yapılan tespitlere göre mimarlık bilgisinin şantiyeden ofise taşınması, mimarları inşa sürecinden büyük ölçüde uzaklaştırmış olsa da Wright, Le Corbusier ve Kahn gibi mimarların, şantiye ile kurdukları farklı ilişkiler, modern mimarlık pratiğinde mesleki rollerin yeniden tanımlandığını göstermekte ve günümüzde daha kapsayıcı bir pratik alanının inşa sahasından yaşanan bu kopuşa yönelik yeni ilişkilenme biçimlerinin geliştirilmesi ile mümkün olduğu düşünülmektedir.</p></abstract>

                            <p>This study aims to investigate the impact of the displacement of architectural knowledge from the construction site to the office, beginning with the Renaissance, on the architect&#039;s identity and professional role. Within the scope of this study, the roles of architects who occasionally returned to the abandoned construction site have been traced through construction site photographs taken from the second quarter of the twentieth century onward, in which the architects themselves are visibly present.The process of defining the scope of the study was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the initially broader historical timeframe was narrowed by excluding more recent case studies, in order to account for developments in photographic technology and to avoid discrepancies in the form and content of the photographs. In the second stage of the study, which was limited to the years 1930–1980, cases in which construction site photographs existed but the architect was either not present in any of them or appeared in only a single image were excluded from the scope of the research. Following this two-stage process of scope determination, photographs of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959), Le Corbusier (1887–1965), and Louis Kahn (1901–1974) taken at various construction sites were selected for analysis. Through these images, the transformation of the architect’s identity and their roles on the construction site were examined.Through the analysis of the photographs, based on the date, purpose, and composition of each image; the architects’ clothing choices (suits or casual clothing) and bodily postures; the accessories they carried (such as a fedora, bow tie, notebook, pencil, hard hat, gloves, tool belt, etc); other people or bodies (architects, engineers, other professionals, workers, women, children, animals, journalists, politicians, religious figures, etc. ) and their body position: It has been determined that Frank Lloyd Wright acted as an observer and participant at the construction site of the Johnson Wax Building, as a narrator-visitor at the construction site of the Beth Sholom Synagogue, and as a supervisor and guide at the construction site of the Guggenheim Museum; Le Corbusier acted as a participant and transmitter at the construction site of Unité d’Habitation in Marseille, as a visitor at the construction site of the Ronchamp Chapel, and as a listener-visitor and observer at the construction site of the La Tourette Monastery; and Louis Kahn acted as a visitor at three of construction site of Indian Institute of Management, Kimbell Art Museum and Yale Center for British Art. According to these findings, although the transfer of architectural knowledge from the construction site to the office has significantly distanced architects from the construction process, dialogues established by architects like Wright, Le Corbusier ve Kahn with construction sites through different ways demonstrate that professional roles and identities in modern architectural practice were redefined. From this perspective, it is argued that enabling a more inclusive field of architectural practice today depends on the development of new forms of engagement that address the rupture from the construction site.</p></trans-abstract>
