Bu çalışmada, Araç Çayı’nın makroomurgasız faunasını tespit etmek ve buna bağlı olarak su kalitesini belirlemek üzere 4 istasyondan örnekler alındı. Araç çayı, Ilgaz dağlarının eteklerinden doğan, Karabük ovasına yayılan ve Filyos çayını oluşturan kollardan biridir. Su örneklerinde Sıcaklık, Çözünmüş Oksijen, pH ölçümleri arazide yapılmıştır. Makroomurgasızların örneklemesi Surber tip ile yapılmış ve 500µm göz aralığı elekten elenerek %4’lük formaldehit eklenerek cam kavanozlarda laboratuara getirilmiş ve laboratuarda %70’lik etil alkolde saklanmıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda makroomurgasızlardan baskın olarak, Trichoptera takımından Hydropsychidae familyasına rastlanmıştır. Trichoptera, Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Diptera, Oligochaeta ve Odonata’ya ait taksalar tespit edilmiştir. 4. istasyon olan Ilgaz dağlarına yakın bölgede çeşitlilik daha yüksek bulunmuştur.

In this study, samplers were taken to the four stations to identify macroinvertebrates and water quality of Araç Brook. Araç Brook born in the foothills of the Ilgaz mountains, spread Karabük plain and brook is one of the Filyos constituent branches. Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen and pH of water samples were done in the field. Macroinvertebrates samples were taken by Surber Net and then into the jar with the addition of 4% formaldehyde by sieved through a sieve 500μm. Samples were stored in 70% ethyl alcohol after identification. As a result of this study, Hydropsychidae is predominant macroinvertebrate, Trichoptera, Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Diptera, Oligochaeta and of Odonata taxa have been identified. Diversity in the 4th station close to the Ilgaz Mountains were higher than the others.
