Southeastern Anatolian Region, which was
known as "Upper Mesopotamia" in ancient time is rich in water and
land resources. A regional project, including many parts at separate sectors,
was developed to use these natural resources and to provide a sustainable development in the region and namely
called "Southeastern Anatolian Project (GAP)".
