Abstract

Abstract
It has become imperative for individuals to have financial skills in order to be in economic prosperity in the future. In order to achieve this, the level of knowledge about the management and investment of money is very important. In the study, university students' investment behavior (IB- Investment behaviour), financial literacy (FL- Financial literacy), self-control (SC- Self-control) and peer influence (PI- Peer-influence) were examined with a proposed structural model. The sample of the study includes 461 participants studying at Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGÜ) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.. In the study, partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used for model fit and hypothesis testing. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the proposed research model was compatible. While financial literacy and peer influence explained the investment behavior positively, self-control negatively affected the investment behavior.
