                            <p>In this study, measurements of radon gas activity concentrations in the living and bedroom rooms of some houses in Onikisubat, one of the central districts of Kahramanmaraş province, were made using the Durridge Rad7 detector. The radon activity values inside the houses were calculated by taking the average of the values measured in these rooms. The value of the calculated mean radon activity concentrations ranged from 4.14±1.34 Bq/m3 to 25.54±9.14 Bq/m3. The arithmetic mean of these values was calculated as 16.81±6.08 Bq/m3. The calculated values within the scope of the study were compared with the levels determined by national and international organizations for indoor spaces and it was understood that they were far below the recommended limit values. In addition, it was calculated that the annual effective dose equivalents (AEDE) of people living in the houses where the measurement was made vary between 0.10±0.03 mSv/y and 0.64±0.27 mSv/y due to radon gas exposure. It was found that the excessive lifetime cancer risks (ELCR), calculated by considering the life expectancy of 70 years, ranged from 0.37±0.12×10-3 to 2.26±0.95×10-3.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Bu çalışmada, Kahramanmaraş ili merkez ilçelerinden birisi olan Onikişubat’ta bazı evlerin oturma ve yatak odalarında radon gazı aktivite konsantrasyonlarının ölçümleri Durridge Rad7 dedektörü kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Bu odalarda ölçülen değerlerin ortalamaları alınarak evlerin içerisindeki radon aktivite değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Hesaplanan ortalama radon aktivite konsantrasyonlarının değeri 4,14±1,34 Bq/m3 ile 25,54±9,14 Bq/m3 arasında değişmektedir. Bu değerlerin aritmetik ortalaması ise, 16,81±6,08 Bq/m3 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamındaki hesaplanan değerler kapalı mekanlar için ulusal ve uluslararası kuruluşlar tarafından belirlenen seviyelerle karşılaştırılarak önerilen sınır değerlerin çok altında olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca, ölçüm yapılan evlerde yaşayan insanların maruz kaldıkları radon gazımdan dolayı yılık efektif doz eşdeğerleri (YEDE), 0,10±0,03 mSv/y ile 0,64±0,27 mSv/y arasında değiştikleri hesaplanmıştır. Yaşam süresi 70 yıl düşünülerek hesaplanan yaşam boyu kanser riskleri (YBKR) 0,37±0,12×10-3 ile 2,26±0,95×10-3 arasında değiştiği bulunmuştur.</p></abstract>
