                                                                                                <abstract><p>Matematik tarihinde, kök çıkarma işlemleriyle ilgili aritmetiksel  metotlar, gerek sayıların tam veyahut yaklaşık köklerinin elde  edilmesinde, gerekse de denklemlere  cebirsel tekniklerden ziyade   nümerik olarak yaklaşımda uygulama alanı bulmuştur. Bununla ilgili ilk  teşebbüsler Mezopotamyalılardan gelmiş olup, ortaçağın doğu ve batı  uygarlıklarında, bu metotlar gelişme göstermiştir. Özellikle Çinlilerin  yüksek dereceli denklemleri çözme gayretleri, onları asırlar önce, Ruffini  ve Horner’in modern matematiksel tekniklerine yaklaştırmıştır. 15.  yüzyılda Cemşid Kaşi, yüksek dereceden kök alma işlemlerine “genel”  çözüm metotları önermiş olup, bu birikimin Osmanlılara aktarılmış  olduğu bilinmektedir.  Çalışmamızda, Kanunî dönemine ait Câmiʻu’l- Hisâb isimli  matematik eserinin sekizinci başlığı altında yer alan kök çıkarma metotları  incelenerek, Osmanlı matematiğine yapılan katkıların tespit edilmesi  amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, öncelikle konunun tarihsel arkaplanından  bahsedilmiştir. Ardından, eser kısaca tanıtılarak, incelenen ve tesis edilen  metinle ilgili birtakım açıklamalar yapılmıştır. Matematiksel çözümleme  çalışmamızın üçüncü bölümünde işlenmiş olup, tenkitli metni ekte  sunulmuştur. Sonuç olarak, ortaçağ İslam matematiğinden tevarüs edilen  aritmetiksel metotların Osmanlı matematik eserlerinde oldukça iyi temsil  edildiği görülmüş ve bunların söz konusu eserde dikkat çekici bir  konuma getirildiği anlaşılmıştır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>In history of mathematics, arithmetical methods concerning root  extraction were distinguished in both exact or approximate roots of  numbers and numerical  rather than algebric  approach to equations.  First attempts about this subject came from the Mesopotamian, and  methods was developed by the civilizations in medieval period.  Especially, Chinese efforts about solving high-order equations got  themselves closer to modern mathematical techniques even centuries  ago. In fifteenth century, Cemşid Kaşi proposed &quot;general&quot; solution  methods for high-level root extraction operations and these  advancements were transferred to the Ottomans.  This study aims to point out the contributions to Ottoman  mathematics within the context of root extraction methods through  Cami el- Hisab which belongs to the era of Kanunî. Firstly, historical back  ground of the subject has been explained briefly. After that, the text that  focused on and its edition has been presented. Finally, it has been  clarified the mathematical structure of the text by means of the formulas.  The text on these methods are in appendix of the study as critical  edition. Findings indicate that these methods, which leans to mediaeval  Islam mathematics, has gained a remarkable position in traditional period  of Ottomans.</p></trans-abstract>
