Determination of the Attitudes of Nurses Working in Internal Clinics for Evidence Based Nursing: Rural Region Example

Year 2018, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 1 - 9, 30.12.2018

Abstract

Objective:
Evidence-based health care approach is very important in clinical decision
making. Each decision taken by the nurse in the care process should be based on
the best available evidence, clinical experience and patient preferences. The
aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of nurses working in internal
clinics towards evidence based nursing.

Method:
This descriptive study was carried out with 64 nurses working in the internal
units of Bayburt State Hospital between January 2018 and February 2018. The
data of the study were collected by the “Nurse Information Form” and the “Attitude
Scale for Evidence-Based Nursing” (ASEBN). Number, percentage, mean and standard
deviation were used to evaluate the data.

Results:  The nurses participating in the study, 79.7%
were women, 42.2% were under the age of 25,
54.7% were  undergraduates and 53.1%
were single. It was determined that 56.3% of the nurses followed professional
publications, 62.5% of them attended scientific meetings, and 57.8% of the
nurses conducted post-graduation research. The average score for the ASEBN was 57.35
± 9.45. The “Beliefs and Expectations for the Evidence-Based Nursing” subscale
mean score was 27.26±4.66; the “Evidence-Based Application Intention” subscale
mean score was 14.81±3.04, and the  “Feelings Related to evidence-based Nursing”
subscale mean score was 15.28 ±3.59.

Conclusion:
The attitudes of nurses working in internal medicine clinics towards
evidence-based nursing are moderate and need to be improved.

Dahiliye Kliniklerinde Çalışan Hemşirelerin Kanıta Dayalı Hemşireliğe Yönelik Tutumlarının Belirlenmesi: Kırsal Bölge Örneği

Year 2018, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 1 - 9, 30.12.2018

Abstract

Verilerin
değerlendirilmesinde sayı, yüzde, ortalama ve standart sapma kullanıldı.

Bulgular: Araştırmaya
katılan hemşirelerin %79.7’si kadın, %42.2’si 25 yaş altında, %54.7’si lisans
mezunu ve %53.1’i bekardır.  Hemşirelerin
%56.3’ünün mesleki yayınları takip ettiği, %62.5’inin bilimsel toplantılara
katıldığı ve %57.8’inin mezuniyet sonrası araştırma yaptığı saptandı.
Hemşirelerin KDHYTÖ toplam puan ortalaması 57.35±9.45’dir ve KDHYTÖ alt boyut
puan ortalaması ise kanıta dayalı hemşireliğe yönelik inanç ve beklentileri 27.26±4.66;
kanıta dayalı uygulama niyeti 14.81±3.04 ve kanıta dayalı hemşirelikle ilgili
duyguları 15.28 ±3.59 olarak belirlendi.

Sonuç:
Dahiliye kliniklerinde çalışan hemşirelerin kanıta dayalı hemşireliğe yönelik
tutumları orta düzeydedir ve geliştirilmeye gereksinimi vardır.
