<p>Throughout historical and cultural processes, fire has been associated with many meanings such as warmth, protection, and production. In an artistic historical context, fire has been associated with sacredness and divine power since ancient times, while in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance it has been identified with concepts such as enlightenment and purification. In subsequent periods, it has been a tool that reinforces dramatic and emotional narratives. From a modern and contemporary art perspective, fire has been approached through the concepts of rebirth, transformation, and memory. Particularly in the field of conceptual art, it has been used as a tool to produce new meanings and create critical discourse, going beyond concrete destruction. This study examines how Sarkis, who frequently uses concepts such as space, memory, and leaving traces in his artistic practice, takes fire beyond its literal meaning in his work Transflammation. The work evaluates the transformation and rebirth of fire, its use in relation to memory and space, in terms of both meaning and formal characteristics. Although the viewer does not see the burning of fire in a concrete sense, they witness the work&#039;s transformation and new life on a mental and emotional level. By transforming fire, it draws attention to the transience of the work and shows that it can be reinterpreted in new spaces.</p></trans-abstract>
