Transnasal endoscopic removal of an ectopic tooth mimicking a rhinolith from the nasal cavity: a case report

Year 2014, Issue: 1, 63 - 66, 01.04.2014

Abstract

The presence of ectopic tooth in the nasal cavity is a rare phenomenon and the etiology has not been fully elucidated. A 30 year-old female without risk factors presented with non-spesific symptoms and primarily considered as a rhinolith case. However, computerized tomography showed an ectopic tooth in the nasal cavity and the patient underwent transnasal endoscopic removal of the nasal tooth. Histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis.

Rinoliti taklit eden nazal kavite yerleşimli ektopik dişin transnazal endoskopik yöntemle çıkarılması: olgu sunumu

Year 2014, Issue: 1, 63 - 66, 01.04.2014

Abstract

Nazal kavitede ektopik diş izlenmesi, henüz etyolojisi tam olarak aydınlatılamamış nadir görülen klinik bir durumdur. Sunduğumuz olguda nonspesifik nazal semptomlarla başvuran ve etyolojik risk faktörü bulundurmayan 30 yaşında kadın hasta, klinik bulguları ile öncelikle rinolit olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Ancak bilgisayarlı tomografi inceleme sonucunda nazal kavite yerleşimli ektopik diş tanısı konulmuş, kitle transnazal endoskopik yöntemle çıkarılarak histopatolojik olarak tanı doğrulanmıştır.
