Knowledge of general practitioners and medical students regarding the diagnosis and treatment of anaphylaxis

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: In this study, it is aimed to compare the standard of attainments of medical students with general practitioners about the diagnosis and treatment of anaphylaxis. METHODS: A questionnaire was asked to the senior students at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal Medical Faculty and general practitioners working on 1st step health care in Bolu. The questionnaire was composed of cases with anaphylaxis or anaphylaxis-like situations. RESULTS: Sixty eight students and 55 general practitioners were included in the study. Thirty eight (55.8%) of the students and 39 (70.9%) of the practitioners were male. Abstract

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmada, tıp fakültesi öğrencileri ile pratisyen hekimlerin anafilaksi konusundaki tanı ve tedavi yaklaşımlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. YÖNTEMLER: Anket çalışması Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi son sınıf öğrencileri ve Bolu’da birinci basamak sağlık hizmetlerinde çalışan pratisyen hekimlere yapıldı. Ankette anafilaksi ve anafilaksi benzeri olgu örnekleri verildi.BULGULAR: Çalışmaya 68 öğrenci ve 55 pratisyen hekim katıldı. Öğrencilerinin 38 tanesi (%55.8) ve pratisyen hekimlerin 39 tanesi (%70.9) erkek idi. Anafilaksi olgularını doğru tanıma oranları öğrencilerde %59.8 iken, pratisyen hekimlerde %35.8 idi.
