Bu makalede, bunun Solon yasalarından biriolup olmadığı sorusu ele alınacaktır. Solon’un arkhon seçilmesine neden olan sosyo-ekonomik durum ve onun tam yetkili birarkhon olarak gerçekleştirdiği reformlara kabaca değinildikten sonra, tarafsızlık karşıtı yasasının varlığına karşı öne sürülenargümanlar etraflıca tartışılacaktır.</p>

<p>Despite his fame for his neutrality and advocacy of socio-political stability, some ancient authors, most notably, Aristotleattributes a law to Solon that forbids neutrality as well as passivity in times of civil strife. While some strongly argue againstthe authenticity of the law, some put forward several arguments in favor of its authenticity. After roughly mentioning theeconomic and social circumstances that lead to both Solon’s appointment to an eponymous archonship and his reforms, Iwill take up the issue of the authenticity of the so-called Solon’s law against neutrality and explicate the arguments given onboth sides.</p></trans-abstract>
