                                                                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu araştırmada, otel yöneticilerin sergilemiş oldukları dönüşümcü liderlik davranışının çalışanların presenteeism davranışı üzerindeki etkisinde, iş yaşam dengesinin aracılık rolünü keşfetmek amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, araştırmada karma araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Çalışmanın nicel kısmında İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren 4 ve 5 yıldızlı otel çalışanlarından anket tekniği uygulanarak 442 adet veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen nicel veriler analiz edildikten sonra araştırmanın nitel kısmı için nicel araştırmaya katılım sağlayan katılımcılardan gönüllü olan 25 otel çalışanı ile derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılarak elde edilen veriler analiz edilmiştir. Nicel araştırma sonuçlarına göre dönüşümcü liderliğin presenteeismi ve iş yaşam dengesi pozitif, iş yaşam dengesinin presenteeismi çok düşük düzeyde pozitif yönde etkilediği tespit edilirken, dönüşümcü liderliğin presenteeism üzerinde etkisinde iş yaşam dengesinin kısmî aracılık etkisinin olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Buna ilaveten araştırmanın nitel analiz sonuçları, çalışanların presenteeism davranışına maruz kalmasında, yöneticilerin çalışanlar ile sadece iş odaklı ilişki kurması, çalışanlara değer vermemesi ve çalışanlara güvenmemesi gibi önemli unsurların yer aldığı görülmektedir.</p></abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
                            <p>In this study, the aim is to examine the effect of transformational leadership behaviors displayed by hotel managers on employees’ presenteeism and to explore the mediating role of work–life balance in this relationship. To achieve this objective, a mixed-method research design was adopted. In the quantitative phase of the study, a survey was administered to employees working in 4- and 5-star hotels operating in Istanbul, and a total of 442 valid responses were collected. After analyzing the quantitative data, the qualitative phase was conducted with 25 hotel employees who voluntarily participated among the quantitative sample, and in-depth interviews were carried out. The qualitative data were subsequently analyzed using content analysis. The quantitative findings revealed that transformational leadership positively affects both presenteeism and work–life balance, and that work–life balance also has a very small positive effect on presenteeism. Furthermore, it was determined that work–life balance has a partial mediating role in the effect of transformational leadership on presenteeism. In addition, the qualitative findings indicated that several factors contribute to employees experiences of presenteeism, including managers establishing relationships with employees that are solely work-oriented, not valuing employees sufficiently, and lacking trust in them.</p></trans-abstract>
