Küreselleşmenin etkisiyle toplumsal yapı ve toplumun yaşadığı değişimler sosyal eşitlikleri arttırmaktadır. Küreselleşmenin ortaya çıkardığı toplumsal sorunları insan ilişkilerinin önemine değinerek açıklayan Zygmunt Bauman, konuyu sosyal eşitsizlik felsefesi ile değerlendirmektedir. Toplumun yaşadığı süreçlerin ve eşitsizliklerin görünür olduğu, insanın içinde gerçeklik kazandığı mekânı da etkilemektedir. Bu nedenle mekânın tasarlanma süreci ve tasarımcının sorumluluğu oldukça önemlidir. Tasarlanan mekânlar tüm insanlara hizmet etmeli, eşit ve adil olmalıdır. Bu bağlamda farklı ekonomik şartlar altında değerlendirilen konut üretim sürecinde, tasarımcının kullanıcıyı anlaması ve sosyal sorumluluğunun gündeme getirilmesi çalışmanın temel çıkış noktasıdır. Felsefe-mimarlık ilişkisinin ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışıldığı araştırmanın amacı, Bauman’ın sosyal eşitsizlik felsefesi kapsamında mimar Alejandro Aravena’nın tasarladığı sosyal konutları değerlendirmektir. Araştırmanın kapsamı, Aravena önderliğinde Elemantal Grubu ile aynı amaç ve ilkelerle tamamladıkları Elemantal’ın internet sitesinde detayları yer alan yapılar olarak sınırlandırılmıştır. Araştırma için nicel araştırma türlerinden nedensel-karşılaştırmalı görsel analiz modeli tercih edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, sosyal eşitsizlik felsefesi kapsamında bir taraf olan Aravena’nın tasarımlarındaki rolünün ve sorumluluğunun sağduyulu bir yaklaşımla yönetildiği görülmüştür. Araştırma sonucunda, Bauman’ın felsefesi ile Aravena’nın tasarım yaklaşımının örtüştüğü tespit edilmiştir.
The effects of globalization on social structure and the changes experienced by society are increasing social inequalities. Zygmunt Bauman, who discusses the social issues arising from globalization, evaluates the topic through the philosophy of social inequality, emphasizing the importance of human relationships. The processes and inequalities experienced by society also influence the spaces in which individuals gain reality. Therefore, the design process of these spaces and the responsibility of the designer are crucial. Designed spaces should serve all people and be equal and just. In this context, the fundamental starting point of this study is to emphasize the designer's understanding of the user and the necessity of social responsibility in the housing production process evaluated under different economic conditions. The aim of the research is to explore the relationship between philosophy and architecture by evaluating the social housing projects designed by architect Alejandro Aravena within the framework of Bauman's philosophy of social inequality. The scope of the research is limited to the structures detailed on the website of Elemental, which were completed with the same goals and principles under Aravena’s leadership. For the research, a causal-comparative visual analysis model, which is one of the quantitative research types, was preferred. As a result, it was observed that Aravena’s role and responsibility in his designs were managed with a prudent approach within the framework of the philosophy of social inequality. The research concluded that there is a convergence between Bauman's philosophy and Aravena’s design approach.
