The Syrian crisis had forced Iran and Israel to engage in a direct military confrontation after decades of proxy wars, in which Iran achieved large targets with least casualties. Israel sees the Iranian military presence nears its borders as a direct threat to its security, that's why it targets Iranian military bases in Syria. These developments prompted us to question the outcome of this confrontation and the probability of it turning into a total war. This article discusses that issue from the political borders approach and how it affects the war decision for both parties.
