Abstract

This study aimed to examine the prosocial and antisocial behavior tendencies of team athletes according to different variables. The research was conducted using the descriptive survey model. A relational screening model was used to find the difference between the variables. The universe of the research consists of athletes living in Istanbul from 2020 to 2021. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 375 athletes, 198 men, and 177 men, who were interested in team sports in Istanbul-Avcılar and who have played sports for at least 1–3 years. Personal Information Form and “Prosocial and Antisocial Behaviors in Sports Scale” developed by Kavussanu and Boardley (2009) and adapted into Turkish by Sezen-Balçıkanlı (2013) were used to collect data. Frequency and mean values were used because the data sets showed a normal distribution. Independent groups t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Tukey’s test were used for multiple comparisons between different variables. According to the findings obtained as a result of the analysis, significant differences were found in the prosocial and antisocial behavior tendencies of team athletes, their educational status, and sports year variables (p < .05). However, no significant difference was observed in the variables of gender, age, and sports branch (p > .05).

Takım Sporcularının Prososyal ve Antisosyal Davranış Eğilimlerinin Farklı Değişkenlere Göre İncelenmesi

Year 2022, Volume: 24 Issue: 2, 37 - 40, 22.07.2022
