                                                                                                <abstract><p>İçten yanmalı motorlarda yanma sonucu açığa çıkan gürültünün kontrolü için susturucular kullanılmaktadır. Susturucular motor özelliklerine göre farklı tiplerde üretilmektedir. En yaygın kullanılan tiplerden biri reaktif susturuculardır. İçerisinde herhangi bir yutucu malzeme kullanılmadığı ve kullanım ömrü boyunca aynı performansı gösterdiği için bu susturucular daha çok tercih edilmektedir. Bu makalede reaktif tip bir susturucunun iç tasarımının akış ve akustik özelliklerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Susturucu dış ölçüleri sabit tutulup iç tasarımda porozite oranları, perfore boru uzunluğu değiştirilerek akış ve akustiğe olan etkileri incelenmiştir. İç tasarım parametresi olarak delik çapı, delik sayısı ve perfore boru uzunluğu seçilmiştir. Parametre değişimlerinin akış ve akustik özelliklerine etkisi sonlu elemanlar yazılımları kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Akustik özelliği olarak susturucunun iletim kaybı analizi yapılmış, akış analizinde ise susturucunun basınç kayıpları hesaplanmıştır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Mufflers are used to control noise that occur after firing in the internal combustion engines. Muffler are produced different types according to engine specifications. The most commonly used type of muffler is reactive muffler. Reactive mufflers are preferred mostly because they dont include any absorptive materials and perform same performance along their life. In this article, inner design of a reactive muffler effect on flow and acoustics properties is examined. Muffler’s outer dimensions are fixed and changed porosity, perforated length to examine effect on flow and acoustics. Change of paremeters effect on flow and acoustics are analyzed with finite element programs. Tranmission loss are analyzed for acoustics property, and pressure drop are analyzed for flow property.</p></trans-abstract>
