                            <p>Recently with development of technology, the importance of power quality have been increased. Due to flexiblealternative current transmission systems (FACTS) are used in solve power quality problems, have been usedextensively. This study; a static synchronous compensator device (STATCOM) that is a FACTS device are used insolving power quality problems, has designed according to both conventional control theory basis (P, PI controller)and fuzzy logic basis controller. P-PI controller with conventional control basis and fuzzy controller have beensimulated in MATLAB/Simulink background through a designed test circuit and results have been compared.According to obtained results,STATCOM that is designed through fuzzy logic controller gives better results thandevices that are designed according to conventional P-PI controller.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Son yıllarda teknolojinin gelişmesiyle birlikte güç kalitesinin önemi artmıştır. Bundan dolayı güç kalitesi problemlerinin giderilmesinde kullanılan esnek alternatif akım iletim sistemleri (FACTS) kullanımı yaygınlaşmıştır. Bu çalışmada, güç kalitesi problemlerinin giderilmesinde sıklıkla kullanılan bir FACTS cihazı olan statik senkron kompanzatör (STATCOM) hem geleneksel kontrol teorisi temelli P, PI kontrolörler ile hem de bulanık mantık temelli kontrolör ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. MATLAB/Simulink ortamında tasarlanan bir test devresi ile geleneksel kontrol teorisi temelli P,PI kontrolörler ile bulanık mantık temelli kontrolör karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre bulanık mantık temelli kontrolör ile tasarlanan STATCOM, geleneksel kontrol teorisi temelli P, PI kontrolörler ile tasarlanan STATCOM’a göre daha iyi sonuçlar vermiştir</p></abstract>
