Possibleeffects are need to be identified on the environment and non-target organisms. Drosophila melanogaster Meigen (Diptera:Drosophilidae) hasbeen one of the most studied organisms, working as a model in developmentalbiology and environmental studies. In this study, adults were fed withnanofiber coated diet (PAN-DMF; produced by the electrospinning, range ofdiamer 260 nm), eggs were obtained from adults, and biological traits wereobserved until the adult stage. The effect of nanofiber on survivorship anddevelopment ratio of D.melanogasterwere investigated. Nutrient surface and viability werevisualized by using SEM. According to the obtained results, PAN-DMF is suitedwith the nutrient surface compared to controls; and was found to have noadverse effect on the development of insect. Nanofibers can be used in foodcontact organisms, but more detailed studies would be needed to understand theeffects of these components on environment and non target organisms.</p>
