Abstract
Kaleici, one of important Mediterranean trade centers in Seljuk period is the first settlement center of Antalya city. In this region Yivli Minaret, located in the complex referred to its name was built during Alaeddin Keykubat era in 13th century, as one of the first Islamic monuments of the city. Yivli Minaret, an important building symbolizing the city is today one of the most visited monuments. The aim of this study is to highlight the characteristics providing Yivli Minaret a special feature, the landmark of the city. The building is examined in terms of historical value, structural characteristics, location, natural land features, the strength in city skyline and ongoing functionality, and its importance in the history of Antalya City is presented.
Abstract
Selçuklular döneminde, Akdeniz'in önemli bir ticaret merkezi olan Kaleiçi Antalya kentinin ilk kurulum bölgesidir. Bu bölgede kendi adı ile anılan külliye içerisinde yer alan Yivli Minare I. Alaeddin Keykubat döneminde, 13. yüzyılda yaptırılmış olup kentin ilk İslam eserlerindendir.
Günümüzde kenti simgeleyen önemli bir yapı olan Yivli Minare en çok ziyaret edilen eserlerden birisidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Yivli Minare'nin kenti simgeleyen yapı olmasını sağlayan özelliklerinin vurgulanmasıdır. Tarihi değeri, yapısal özellikleri, konumu, doğal çevre özellikleri, kent silüetinde etkin olması ve fonksiyonelliğini devam ettirmesi açısından yapı irdelenmiş ve Antalya Kenti tarihindeki önemi ortaya konmuştur.
