The sample of the study consisted of 205 women between the ages of 19-64 who came to the Healthy Life Center in Sandıklı district of Afyonkarahisar province. Participants who had a psychological disorder, were using antidepressant medication, were pregnant or breastfeeding, and did not volunteer to participate were not included in the study. BMI values were calculated after the anthropometric measurements of the women were taken by the researcher. In addition, women were assessed for their eating behaviors by “The Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire” (DEBQ), which was adapted into Turkish by Bozan in 2009. Analysis of the findings revealed that as the daily energy and carbohydrate intake of the participants increased, their external eating behavior scores also increased and their restrictive eating behavior scores decreased. In addition, while decreases were observed in anthropometric measurement values of women with high restrictive eating behavior scores, increases were detected in women with high emotional and external eating behavior scores. In this study, a close relationship between obesity and eating behaviors was observed. The psychological factors should be scrutinized in the prevention and treatment of the obesity pandemic.</p>
