Abstract

Lazer
teknolojisi, diş hekimliğine kanamasız cerrahi işlem, minimal post-op ağrı,
kısa işlem süresi gibi avantajlar sunmaktadır. Bu büyük avantajların yanı sıra,
bu teknolojinin kullanımıyla gün geçtikçe lazer güvenliği önemli bir unsur
haline gelmiştir. Kullanım sırasında oküler tehlikeler, doku yaralanması,
uygulama sırasında açığa çıkan buharın solunması, yangın ve patlama gibi
tehlikeler mevcuttur. Lazerlerin güvenli kullanımı, lazer kazalarına bağlı
yaralanmaların en aza indirilmesi için sağlık çalışanları tarafından dikkat
edilmesi gereken önlemlerle mümkündür. Bu derlemede, diş hekimliğinde lazer
kullanımı ile ilgili riskler araştırılmış ve lazer yaralanmalarının önlenmesi
için klinikte uygulanabilecek bazı lazer güvenlik protokolleri ve önlemleri anlatılmıştır.
