Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism can be defined as the act of an author using the work of another author without permission, credit, or acknowledgment. The act of plagiarism can manifest in various forms, including direct copying of another author's work in its original form, as well as paraphrasing or summarising that work without proper attribution.

Plagiarism represents a significant and pervasive ethical challenge within the academic community. Selçuk University Journal of the Faculty of Letters adheres to the highest standards of academic integrity and does not permit any form of plagiarism. In instances where plagiarism is suspected, the editor shall proceed in accordance with the principles set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) : Intellectual property | COPE: Committee on Publication Ethics

In accordance with the policy of the Journal, authors of articles submitted for publication are required to scan and upload them to the iThenticate program without any restriction. A high degree of similarity may result in the rejection of an article prior to or subsequent to its acceptance. The similarity score is typically expected to be less than 15% and is dependent on the type of article in question.

Manuscripts that have undergone significant revisions and substantial alterations to the text content are scanned a second time by the chief- editor using the iThenticate program prior to publication.
