                                                                                                <abstract><p>Amaç: Bu in vitro çalışmanın amacı, tükürük kontaminasyonu/dekontaminasyon yöntemlerinin polimerize olmuş bir üniversal adezivin dentine bağlanma dayanımı üzerindeki etkisini değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve  Yöntem: Çalışma için 70 adet çekilmiş insan azı dişi kullanıldı. Dişler meziodistal olarak boylamasına kesildikten sonra standart bir dentin yüzeyi elde etmek için aşındırıldı. Dişlere üniversal adeziv (Adhese, Ivoclar/Vivadent) uygulanıp polimerize edildikten sonra tükürük kontaminasyon yöntemlerine (n=14) göre rastgele beş gruba ayrıldı: Grup I-Kontaminasyon yok (kontrol); Grup II: Adeziv / Tükürük /Yıkama; Grup III: Adeziv /Tükürük /Kurutma /Adeziv; Grup IV: Adeziv /Tükürük /Yıkama /Kurutma; Grup V: Adeziv /Tükürük /Yıkama /Kurutma /Adeziv.  Yüzeylere kompozit silindirler (Tetric N-Ceram) uygulandı. Örnekler distile suda 24 saat bekletildkten sonra kesme bağlanma dayanımları üniversal test cihazı kullanılarak ölçüldü. Veriler tek yönlü ANOVA ve Tukey çoklu karşılaştırma testi kullanılarak analiz edildi (p &amp;lt;0.05).Bulgular: Grup  II ve III’ün bağlanma dayanımı, kontrol grubuna (Grup I) istatistiksel olarak benzer bulundu (p&amp;gt; 0.05). Grup IV ve V, test edilen diğer gruplara göre istatistiksel olarak daha düşük bağlanma dayanımı değerleri gösterdi (p &amp;lt;0.05). Grup II  ile III ve Grup IV ve V arasında istatistiksel olarak fark gözlenmedi (p&amp;gt; 0.05).Sonuç: Havayla kurutma ile dekontaminasyon, kontrol grubuna benzer bağlanma dayanımı değerleri ile sonuçlanmıştır. Suyla durulama/havayla kurutma ile dekontaminasyon düşük bağlanma dayanımı değerlerine sebep olmuştur. Dekontaminasyon yönteminden bağımsız olarak, adezivin tekrar uygulanması bağlanma dayanımını etkilememiştir.</p></abstract>
