                                                                                                <abstract><p>Tannen (TAN) was evaluated for its ability to reduce the deleterious effects of AF in Japanese quail. It was incorporated into the diets containing 3 mg/kg total AF. In the present study, 120 10-d-old Japanese quail were randomly distributed into four experimental groups (30 birds per group) and fed the following diets for 35 days:  I) Control (C): bazal diet; II) C+3 mg/kg AF; III) C+1% TAN; IV) C+3 mg/kg AF+1% TAN of diet. Each treatment consisted of 10 replicates of 3 quail. Performance parameters were determined weekly.  Feed and water were supplied ad libitum. The results showed that the group consuming alone AF-containing diet significantly had lower body weight gain and feed consumption than the others during the experiment. The addition of TAN to the AF-containing diet significantly reduced the deleterious effects of AF on body weight gain and feed consumption. While body weight gain was reduced by 28% in quail consuming the AF diet without TAN, but increased by 8% for quail consuming the AF plus TAN diet. Similarly, feed consump-tion was reduced 25% in birds consuming the AF diet without TAN, but increased by only 3% for birds consuming the AF plus TAN diet. Also, feeding AF plus TAN alone caused significant improved in feed conversion ratio during the experiment compared with the other groups. These results suggested that TAN effectively diminished the detrimental effects of AF on performance in this study.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Bu çalışma Japon bıldırcınlarında aflatoksikozise karşı tanen (TAN) kullanımının etkisini saptayabilmek için yürütülmüştür. Toplam olarak 120 Japon bıldırcını, her birinde 30 adet olmak üzere 4 deneme grubuna ayrılmıştır. Mısır-soya küspesine dayalı  AF içermeyen bazal rasyon kontrol rasyonu olarak kullanılmıştır. Buna göre: I) Kontrol (K): bazal rasyon; II) K+3 mg/kg AF; III) K+ % 1 TAN; IV) K+3 mg/kg AF+% 1 TAN şeklinde hazırlanan 4 farklı deneme rasyonu 35 gün süreyle deneme gruplarına ad libitum yedirilmiştir. Performans parametreleri haftalık olarak belirlenmiştir. Deneme sonunda, sade-ce AF içeren rasyonları tüketen bıldırcınlarda canlı ağırlık artışı ve yem tüketimi önemli derecede azalmıştır. Fakat, AF içeren rasyonlara TAN ilavesiyle AF’ den dolayı azalan canlı ağırlık artışı ve yem tüketimi önemli derecede artmıştır. Aflatoksin içeren rasyonla beslenen bıldırcınlarda canlı ağırlık artışındaki kümülatif azalış % 28 iken, AF içeren rasyona TAN ilavesiyle CAA % 8 artmıştır. Yem tüketimindeki kümülatif azalış AF içeren rasyonu tüketen grupta % 25 olurken, AF içeren rasyona TAN ilavesiyle YT % 3 artmıştır. Ancak, sadece TAN içeren rasyonu tüketen bıldırcınların yemden yararlanma katsayıları diğer gruplardan daha düşük olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, Japon bıldırcınlarında AF’ den kaynaklanan olum-suz etkilerin önlenmesinde TAN’ nin etkili olabileceği söylenebilir.</p></trans-abstract>
