Some Technological Characteristics of the Plant Camelina Stem

Abstract

In this study, cutting characteristics of camelina stem, the physical properties of camelina pellets and burn values were investigated in 2013 which was made the summer production in Konya. The cutting experiments were made in humidity values and loading speed values of the camelina stem with five replicates as6.86%, 10.51% and 15.93% (y.b) and 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 ve 1mm s-1, respectively. Also, camelina stems were pelleted in the pellet diameter of 10 mm and the height of 45 mm. The physical properties of the pellets and elemental analyzes were made. In result of the research, the values of cutting force of camelina stem as 8.23-23.99 N, cutting stretching as 0.84-1.82 N mm-2, cutting energy as 0.027-0.082 J and specific cutting energy as 0.380-1.325 mJ mm-2 were found in the experiments. The calorific value of pure camelina pellet as 4406 cal g -1, carbon as 40.61%, hydrogen as 5.86%, sulphur as 0.09%, and ash as 4% were found in the result of elemental analysis.

Ketencik Bitkisi Sapının Bazı Teknolojik Özellikleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, Konya İlinde 2013 yılında yazlık üretimi yapılan ketencik bitkisi saplarının kesme özellikleri ile ketencik peletinin fiziksel özellikleri ve yanma değerleri araştırılmıştır. Kesme deneyleri ketencik sapının %6.86, %10.51 ve %15.93 (y.b) nem değerlerinde, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 ve 1.0 mm s-1 yükleme hızı değerlerinde beş tekrarlı olarak yapılmıştır. Ayrıca ketencik sapları 10 mm pelet çapında ve 45 mm boyunda peletlenmiştir. Peletlerin fiziksel özellikleri ve elemental analizleri yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, ketencik sapının kesme kuvveti 8.23-23.99 N, kesme gerilmesi 0.84-1.82 N mm-2, kesme enerjisi 0.027-0.082 J ve spesifik kesme enerjisi ise 0.380-1.325 mJ mm-2 değerleri arasında bulunmuştur. Elemental analiz sonucunda katıksız ketencik peletinin ısıl değeri 4406 cal g-1, karbon yüzdesi %40.61, hidrojen yüzdesi %5.86, sülfür yüzdesi %0.09 ve kül yüzdesi ise %4 olarak bulunmuştur.
