A Research on Some Properties of the Soils on Bursa Area

Year 1995, Volume: 7 Issue: 9, 171 - 183, 15.08.1995

Abstract

This research was conducted on the soils of Bursa area which has moderate and semihumid climatic conditions. Two soil profiles were described and nine representative soil samples were taken from the horizons. Some physical and chemical properties of the samples were determined. Dominant soil forming processes were observed as calcification, weak podsolization eluviation and illuviation. The amount of available phosphorous is insufficient for profile 1 (18.3 ppm in 0-25 cm) while it is sufficient for profile 2 (32.7 ppm in 0-20 cm) moreover both profiles are poor in extractable potassium. Therefore it is advisable to apply potassium fertilizers in the area.

Bursa Yöresi Topraklarının Bazı Özellikleri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Year 1995, Volume: 7 Issue: 9, 171 - 183, 15.08.1995
