Abstract

Abstract

Pandemics in the past have adversely affected the world in many areas, from economy to health, and have forced businesses to bear various costs. Although there are many studies on the relationship between the Covid-19 pandemic process and the logistics sector, there are not enough studies dealing with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic process on the costs of logistics businesses. This study focuses on revealing how and in which direction the Covid-19 pandemic process affects the activities and costs of logistics enterprises in order to fill the gap in the literature. In this respect, the study contributes to the literature. The aim of this study is to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic process and the measures and restrictions taken during this process on the activities and costs of logistics companies. The sample of the research consists of owners and managers of companies operating in the logistics sector in Şırnak (n = 231). The data in the study was obtained with the help of a survey. Simple linear regression analysis and multiple regression analysis were applied to the obtained data. According to the research findings; It has been determined that the general measures taken during the Covid-19 pandemic had a positive impact on both total logistics activities and total logistics costs. Furthermore, the overall logistics activities were found to have a positive and significant impact on total logistics costs.
