Alternatif Turizm Bağlamında Bitlis İli Bisiklet Turizmi Rotalarının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

İnsanların doğaya çıkma, macera ve değişim arayışı, bisiklet kullanımının artmasına katkı sağlamasının yanı sıra bisikleti günlük yaşamın bir parçası haline getirmiştir. Bisiklet, alternatif bir ulaşım aracı olarak kullanılmasının yanı sıra turistler tarafından da alternatif bir aktivite aracı olarak tercih edilmektedir. Bu durum bisikletli turist profilinin ortaya çıkmasına ve bisiklet turizmi olarak adlandırılan yeni bir turizm türünün doğmasına da katkı sağlamıştır. Turizm sektöründe yeni bir turistik aktivite olarak kabul edilen bisiklet turizmi genellikle doğal ve kırsal alanlarda gerçekleşmekte, ulusal ve bölgesel düzeyde turizmi çeşitlendirmek ve geliştirmek için alternatif bir turizm çekiciliği olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bisikletlerin boş zaman, eğlence ve turizm için kullanımı arttıkça, destinasyon planlayıcıları ve yerel aktörler bisiklet turizmini teşvik etmeye yönelik çabalar göstermektedirler. Bu çabalar sonucunda, destinasyonlarda bisiklet turizmine olan talebi artırmak ve bisiklet turistlerini destinasyonlara çekmek amacıyla bisiklet rotaları oluşturmuşlardır. Bu sayede, bölgeyi ziyaret eden bisikletli turistler, turizm destinasyonlarına ekonomik, sosyal ve çevresel katkılar sağlamakta ve bölgesel kalkınmaya destek olmaktadırlar. Bitlis ili ve çevresi gibi gelişmekte olan turizm bölgelerinde bölgesel kalkınma, turizm çeşitliliği ve ziyaretçi sayısının artırılması gibi nedenlerle bisiklet turizmi rotaları oluşturulmuştur. Oluşturulan bisiklet rotalarıyla bölgeyi ziyaret eden bisikletli turistlerin, Bitlis ili ve çevresi gibi gelişmekte olan turizm bölgelerine hem ekonomik hem de sosyo-kültürel anlamda katkı sağlamaları beklenmektedir. Tüm bunlardan yola çıkarak çalışmanın amacı, Bitlis ilinde bulunan bisiklet rotalarının mevcut durumunun değerlendirilmesi ve bu değerlendirme kapsamında bölgenin bisiklet turizm rotalarının potansiyelini arttırmak için öneriler geliştirmektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş olup, bisiklet turizmi rotalarına katılan ziyaretçilere yüz yüze yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu uygulanmıştır. Görüşmeler sonucunda Bitlis ilindeki bisiklet rotalarının düzensiz ve bakımsız olduğu, mevsimsel zorluklar ve altyapı eksiklikleri nedeniyle kullanımının sınırlı olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu olumsuzluklar göz önünde bulundurularak Bitlis ili turizm rotalarının iyileştirilmesi için öneriler sunularak çalışma bitirilmiştir.
