sinecine: Journal of Film Studies is an open access journal and adopts the Budapest Open Access Initiative's (BOAI) ‘Open Access’ policy and definition as a principle. The contents of the journal are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0). From the moment of publication, all content of sinecine is accessible free of charge. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles without financial, legal, and technical barriers and without prior permission from the publisher or the author, and can use them for any other lawful purpose.

No processing fees are charged at any stage (review, publication, etc.) of the articles submitted to the journal. No open access publication fees are requested from the authors, nor are copyright fees paid to the authors.
