There is naturally a close connection between the science of tafsir, which strives to understand the verses in the most accurate way, and the science of sirah, which deals with all aspects of the Prophet's life. The Qur’ān contains important information about the Prophet's personality, life, wars, interlocutors and period. These details, mentioned in the Qur’ān's unique style, were decisive in the emergence and shaping of the science of Sira. As a result of this, commentaries have become among the sources of sirah science. On the other hand, it is necessary to benefit from the science of Sira in understanding the verses that are known to have been revealed, especially about some events. In general terms, it is important to know the period of the Sirah in order to understand the message of the Qur’ān. The research was prepared to evaluate the connection between these two sciences. The main subject of the study is the evaluation of the data in the tafsir and sirah sources about the reason for the revelation of the 94th verse of the Nisa sura, which is stated to have been revealed upon an event that took place in an expedition. It was emphasized how the reason for the revelation of the verse was discussed in the tafsir and sirah sources and how a choice was made between the mentioned events and interpretations. In the commentaries, an event that took place in the Bani Murra Expedition is highlighted as the reason for the verse, but other events are also mentioned. On the other hand, in the Sirah sources, it is seen that a similar event that took place in the Batn-ı Idam Expedition is given as the reason for the verse. These differences regarding the reason why the verse was revealed constitute the main problem. The events mentioned as the reason for the relevant verse in some main tafsir sources have been identified. It was emphasized how the commentators evaluated the narrations in question and how they interpreted the verse. Then, the historical events obtained from tafsir sources were examined from sirah and Islamic history sources. Thanks to these data, determinations were made on the relationship between sirah and tafsir. The role of Sira science, especially in understanding the verses related to certain historical events, is emphasized.
Kur’ân-ı Kerîm âyetlerini açıklamayı ve yorumlamayı amaç edinen tefsir ilmi ile Hz. Peygamber’in hayatını bütün yönleriyle ele alan siyer ilmi arasında tabii olarak sıkı bir irtibat söz konusudur. Kur’ân’da Hz. Peygamberin şahsiyeti, hayatı, savaşları, muhatapları ve dönemi hakkında önemli bilgiler yer almaktadır. Kur’ân’ın kendine özgü üslubuyla zikrettiği bu detaylar siyer ilminin ortaya çıkıp şekillenmesinde belirleyici olmuş ve bunun bir sonucu olarak tefsirler, siyer ilminin kaynakları arasında yer almıştır. Buna karşın bilhassa bazı hadiseler üzerine nazil olduğu bilinen âyetlerin tefsirinde siyer ilmi son derece önemli bir kaynaklık değeri taşımaktadır. Genel manada ise Kur’ân mesajının daha iyi anlaşılması için nüzûl döneminin bilinmesi bağlamında siyer, tefsir ilmine katkı sağlamaktadır. Araştırma, bu iki ilim arasında zikredilen irtibatın bir örnek üzerinden değerlendirilmesi amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Çalışmanın temel konusu, bir seriyyede yaşanan olay üzerine nazil olduğu belirtilen Nisâ sûresi 94. âyetin sebeb-i nüzûlü hakkında tefsir ve siyer kaynaklarında yer alan verilerin değerlendirilmesidir. Nüzûl sebebinin tefsir ve siyer kaynaklarında ne şekilde ele alındığı, zikredilen olaylar ve yorumlar arasında nasıl bir tercihte bulunulduğu üzerinde durulmuştur. Tefsirlerde Benî Mürre Seriyyesi’nde yaşanan bir olayın nüzûl sebebi olarak öne çıkarıldığı görülmekle birlikte başka hadiseler de zikredilmektedir. Buna karşın siyer kaynaklarında ise Batn-ı İdam Seriyyesi’nde yaşanan benzer bir olayın nüzûl sebebi olarak verilmesi temel problemi oluşturmaktadır. Yöntem olarak öncelikle başlıca tefsir kaynaklarından hareketle ilgili âyetin sebeb-i nüzûlü olarak zikredilen haberlerin tespiti yapılmıştır. Müfessirlerin söz konusu haberleri nüzûl sebebi bağlamında nasıl değerlendirdikleri ve yorumladıkları tahlil edilmiştir. Ardından tefsirlerden elde edilen bu tarihi veriler, siyer ve İslâm tarihi kaynaklarında yer alan bilgilerle mukayeseli olarak irdelenmiştir. Nihâyetinde elde edilen veriler üzerinden siyer-tefsir ilişkisine dair tespitler yapılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Siyer ilminin, bilhassa belirli bir olay üzerine nazil olduğu bilinen âyetlerin anlaşılmasındaki rolü üzerinde durulmuştur.
