Bu makalede, Hz. Peygamber’in (s.a.s.) gazve ve seriyyelerinde askerlerin tükettiği yiyecek ve içecekler, iâşe tedarik yöntemleri, iâşenin depolanması, sevkiyatı ve dağıtımı, yiyeceklerin pişirilmesi, yemek tüketimi ve muharebe hayvanlarının beslenmesi gibi konular ayrıntılı bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri siyer-megāzî kaynakları, umumî tarih kitapları, hadis kitapları, tabakât ve terâcim kitapları, coğrafya kitapları, sözlükler ve diğer ilgili kaynaklardan elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, Hz. Peygamber dönemi askerî harekât sırasında besin değeri, dayanıklılığı, tedariki, muhafazası ve nakliye kolaylığı nedeniyle genellikle hurma, hays, ekmek, sevîk, kurutulmuş veya taze et gibi yiyeceklerin tercih edildiğini göstermektedir. Bu dönemde gıda maddelerinin tedarikinde gereksinimler doğrultusunda farklı yöntemlere başvurulmuştur. Şahsi yiyecekler, devlet desteği, doğal kaynaklar, harp ganimetleri, satın alımlar, bağış ve yardımlar, antlaşmalar yoluyla tedarik ve avlanma yoluyla edinilenler temel iâşe tedarik kaynaklarını oluşturmaktaydı. Barış şartlarında savaşçının kendisi için erzak stokladığına dair kaynaklarda herhangi bir bilgiye rastlanmamıştır. Sefer durumunda ise dönemin en önemli askerî nakliye aracı olan develer, sahip oldukları taşıma kapasitesi ve bizzat kendilerinin yiyecek kaynağı olması özelliğiyle askerî birlikler için bir mobil ikmâl deposuydu. Buna ek olarak harekât alanında düşmandan elde edilen ganimetlerin toplandığı alanlar, bir tür ikmâl deposu olarak faaliyet göstermiştir. Harekât alanına iâşe sevkiyatı develer üzerinde ve yaya erin üzerinde yapılmaktadır. Askerlerin günlük öğün sayısı ve öğün başına düşen gıda miktarı, sefer güzergâhının uzunluğu, sefer süresi, gıda stok miktarı ve bölgesel kaynaklar gibi çeşitli faktörlere bağlı olarak değişkenlik göstermektedir. Buna ek olarak konuyla ilgili ayrıntılara kaynaklarda rastlanmaması sebebiyle asker başına düşen istihkak miktarının ve günlük olarak besinlerden aldığı kalori değerinin hesaplanması oldukça zordur. Bazı savaş ve operasyonlar sırasında askerler büyük ölçüde iâşe sıkıntısı yaşamış ancak en kısa sürede çeşitli kaynaklardan yiyecek ve içecek tedarik edilerek askerlerin muharebe güçleri korunmuş ve harekâtlar başarılı bir şekilde tamamlanmıştır.
In this article, examines a range of issues related to food and beverages consumed by the soldiers, including ration supply methods, storage, transport and distribution of ration, cooking of food, food consumption as well as feeding of combat animals in the Prophet’s (pbuh) g̲h̲azw and sariyya. The data of the research were obtained from sīra- mag̲h̲āzī sources, universal history books, hadit̲h̲ books, tabaḳāt books, geography books, dictionaries, and other relevant sources. The findings of the study indicate that, during military operations in the time of the Prophet, food such as dates, hays, bread, sevîk, and dried or fresh meat were generally preferred due to their nutritional value, durability, ease of procurement, preservation, and transportation. During this period, a variety of methods were employed for the provision of food, in accordance with the necessities. The principal methods of food provision included personal food, food provided by state support, natural resources, war booty, food was procured through purchases, donations and aid, food supplies through treaties, and food procured through hunting. The sources do not contain any information regarding the warrior's stockpiling of provisions for himself during peaceful times. In the time of military campaigns, camels the most important means of military transportation of the period, serving as a mobile supply depot for military units due to their exceptional carrying capacity and the fact that they themselves were a source of sustenance. Besides, the areas where war booty obtained from the enemy served as a kind of supply depot. Food supplies were transported to operational areas by both camel and on foot. The number of meals per day and the quantity of food consumed per meal varies depending on a number of factors, which include the length and duration of the campaign, the amount of food stockpiled, and regional resources. Furthermore, there is a lack of detailed information on this subject in the sources, which makes it extremely challenging to accurately calculate the rations per soldier, as well as the calorific value of the available food per day. In some cases, the troops faced major ration shortages, however, the necessary food and beverage were quickly obtained from various sources, enabling the continued operational effectiveness of the troops and the successful completion of the assigned missions.
