This article aims to argue Kadifekale location in the context of sociology of space. In this sense, the article asks what kinds of features space fabric of Kadifekale have, how does this fabric built and in which ways it affects the sociality. Beyond historicity, the foundation of the district, turning into a gecekondu and its transformation to a sample of deprived inner city and other related issues are examined in a sociological analyze. In the article some demographic data on Kadifekale are provided, also analyze of Kadifekale in sociology of space context is endeavored. Thus, the values of space in Kadifekale, belonging to a space and the sense of identification, space identity, space perception, the social and ethnic structures of dwellers, politization, and its effects on an area on becoming a ghetto or a slum and such other issues are argued in this article
Bu makale Kadifekale semtini mekan sosyolojisi bağlamında tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda makalede Kadifekale’de mekan dokusunun ne tür özelliklere sahip olduğu, bu dokunun ne şekilde inşa edildiği ve bunun toplumsallığı ne yönde etkilediği tartışılmaktadır. Tarihselliğinin yanında semtin kuruluşu, gecekondulaşması ve kent içi bir çöküntü alanı haline gelmesi gibi süreçler sosyolojik bir analize tabi tutulmuştur. Semte ilişkin bazı demografik verilerin aktarıldığı makalede ayrıca Kadifekale’nin mekan sosyolojisi bağlamında çözümlemesi yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bunun için makalede Kadifekale’de mekan değeri, mekana aidiyet ve özdeşim duygusu, mekan kimliği, mekan algısı, mekanda yaşayanların sosyal ve etnik yapısı, politizasyon süreci, bunun gettolaşma ve slum türü mekansal kümelenmelere yol açıp açmadığı gibi konular tartışılmaktadır
