The aim of this study was to determine the spiritual care needs of individuals diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and to examine the effect of spiritual care interventions given in line with their needs on the spiritual well-being of individuals. This research has been carried out in experimental form with randomized control. The sample consisted of 66 patients (33 interventions-33 controls) hospitalized with the diagnosis of COPD in the Chest Diseases Service of a state hospital in Türkiye. Personal information form of the patients, The Scales of Spiritual Care Needs and Spiritual Well Being have been used in the data collection process. It was found that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of the last test of the meaning, peace, belief sub-dimensions and spiritual well-being scale between the groups of the patients in the intervention and control groups (p<0.05), and the mean scores of the patients in the intervention group were higher than the average scores of the patients in the control group. It was found that there was a significant difference between the intergroup meaning and hope, caring and respect sub-dimensions of the patients in the intervention and control groups and the last test average scores of the spiritual care needs scale (p<0.05), and the mean scores of the patients in the intervention group were lower than the average scores of the patients in the control group. It has been reached the conclusion that spiritual care requirements applied in line with spiritual care requirements of the individuals with a diagnosis of COPD have been effective on the score of the spiritual well-being.
