Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to develop a valid and reliable scale to be used to determine the Olympic awareness of high school students. For the selection of the items to be included in the scale, interviews with high school students and archive screening were conducted, and an item pool was created by examining the literature and scale development steps were applied. In this study, in which the scanning model was adopted, the data were obtained from a total of 829 (347 girls + 482 boys) students studying at high schools in the provinces of Sakarya and Istanbul in the 2018-2019 academic year, using the random sampling method. As a result of the analyzes made, it was seen that the items in the scale were grouped under the headings called “Olympic Concepts”, “Olympic Consciousness Building” and “Winning the Olympics in Terms of Athletes and Country”). To determine the reliability of the scale, the Cronbach Alpha value was calculated as .80, McDonald’s (omega) value was calculated as .81 and the test split method (r) value was calculated as .86. As a result of the study, a valid and reliable measurement tool was developed to be used in determining the Olympic awareness of high school students.

Bu araştırmada, lise öğrencilerinin olimpiyat farkındalıklarını belirlemede kullanılacak geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçeğin geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ölçekte yer alması düşünülen maddelerin seçimi için lise öğrencileriyle görüşmeler ve arşiv taraması yapılmış ayrıca alanyazın incelenerek madde havuzu oluşturulmuş ve ölçek geliştirme basamakları uygulanmıştır. Tarama modelinin benimsendiği bu araştırmada veriler, 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Sakarya ve İstanbul illerinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerden (347 kız+482 erkek) rastgele örnekleme yöntemiyle elde edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda ölçekteki maddelerin “Olimpik Kavramlar”, “Olimpik Bilinç Oluşturma” ve “Sporcu ve Ülke Açısından Olimpiyatların Kazanılması” olarak isimlendirilen başlıklar altında toplandığı görülmüştür. Ölçeğin güvenirliğini saptamak için hesaplanan Cronbach Alfa değeri .80, McDonald’ın (omega) değeri .81 ve test yarılama yöntemi (r) değeri .86 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Lise öğrencilerinin olimpiyat farkındalıklarının belirlenmesinde kullanılacak geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmiştir.
