TURKISH ADAPTATION OF THE QUIET QUITTING SCALE; VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY

Year 2024, Volume: 22 Issue: 4, 73 - 83
https://doi.org/10.33689/spormetre.1474467

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the concept of "Quite Quitting," which has been frequently mentioned in international literature in recent years, particularly in the context of sports organizations, and to present it as a measurement tool in Turkish literature. The goal of the study was to provide a thorough understanding, accurate measurement, and conceptualization of quiet quitting—a phenomenon that has not yet gotten sufficient attention from organizations. Participants in the research consist of individuals who work or have worked for different Turkish sports organizations. G*Power analysis determined the study's sample size. The study included a total of 215 participants. The study was based on the "Quiet Quitting Scale," which includes a single sub-dimension and 10 items. (Karrani ve ark., 2024) developed the scale to comprehensively measure employees' quiet quitting behavior. The process of converting the scale to Turkish involved several phases. After completing the linguistic equivalence study, it followed separate analyses to evaluate its content, structure, and convergent validity. The results indicated that the 10-item, one-subdimensional structure of the Quiet Quitting Scale was supported by the scores from the validity and reliability tests. This context suggests that identifying the quiet quitting behaviors of sports organization members and discovering the variables that influence them can aid in the development of sports organizations. Specifically, one can examine the correlations between the levels of quiet quit and variables such as motivation, performance indicators, commitment levels, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction among employees in sports organizations.

SESSİZ İSTİFA ÖLÇEĞİNİN TÜRKÇE’YE UYARLANMASI: GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİRLİK ÇALIŞMASI

Year 2024, Volume: 22 Issue: 4, 73 - 83
https://doi.org/10.33689/spormetre.1474467
