The clay sample used in this work was obtained from Giresun-Şebinkarahisar region. The results of XRD and XRF analyses showed that the clay sample is kaolinit type. After non-structural effects in x-ray powder pattern of the clay sample were removed by various methods, WarrenAverbach’s method was applied to the 00 reflections of this pattern. By using this method, particle size and strain distribution causing the broadening of 00 reflections was determined.
