This study aims to understand which factors influence hospital choice among individuals living in Konya province and to make assessments for improving healthcare services based on these factors. A quantitative research design was used in this Konya-based study. Convenience sampling was employed. The “Personal Information Form” and the “Identification of Factors That May Influence Hospital Choice” questionnaire were used in the study. The survey statements, prepared in a Likert style, were evaluated. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program. Furthermore, as the analysis method, upon determining that the data were normally distributed, t-tests and ANOVA analyses were applied in independent groups. The study included 548 adults. Participants were evenly distributed by gender. The majority were aged 20-29, and the proportions of married and single individuals were similar. Most participants had incomes below the minimum wage, and those with a bachelor's degree had the highest proportion. Participants generally visit the hospital more than once a year and do not change hospitals frequently. It was found that the factors individuals value most in their choice of hospital are the cleanliness of the hospital, the attentiveness of the staff, the confidentiality of information, and the speed and ease of registration. Contrary to expectations, the study found that the gender of healthcare workers was not the most important factor in individuals' choice of public hospital; rather, factors such as cleanliness, communication, privacy, and speed of procedures were more important. Based on these findings, it can be said that compliance with quality standards in public hospitals is an effective factor in hospital choice.
Bu çalışma, Konya ilinde yaşayan bireylerin hastane seçiminde hangi faktörlerin etkili olduğunu anlamayı ve bu faktörler doğrultusunda sağlık hizmetlerinin iyileştirilmesine yönelik değerlendirmeler yapmayı amaçlamaktadır. Konya merkezli yapılan bu araştırmada nicel araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Kolayda örneklem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Hastane Seçiminde Etkili Olabilecek Faktörlerin Belirlenmesi” anket formu kullanılmıştır. Likert tarzı hazırlanan anket ifadeleri değerlendirilmiştir. Veriler Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Ayrıca analiz yöntemi olarak, verilerin normal dağıldığının tespit edilmesi üzerine, bağımsız gruplarda t testi ve ANOVA analizleri uygulanmıştır. Araştırmaya 548 yetişkin katılmıştır. Katılımcılar cinsiyet açısından eşit dağılım göstermektedir. Çoğunluğu 20-29 yaş aralığındadır ve evli ve bekârlar oranları birbirine yakındır. Gelir düzeylerinin büyük kısmı asgari ücretin altında olup, eğitim seviyesinde lisans mezunları en yüksek orana sahiptir. Katılımcılar genellikle yılda birden fazla kez hastaneye başvurmakta, hastaneyi sıklıkla değiştirmemektedir. Bireylerin hastane tercihlerinde en fazla önem verdikleri faktörlerin; hastanenin temizliği, personelin ilgili davranması, bilgilerin gizliliğine özen gösterilm3,esi ve kayıt işlemlerinin hızlı ve kolay yapılabilmesi olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırma sonucunda bireylerin kamu hastane tercihinde beklenenin aksine sağlık çalışanlarının cinsiyetinin ikinci planda olduğu, bunun öncesinde temizlik, iletişim, mahremiyet, işlemlerin hızlılığı gibi faktörlerin geldiği görülmüştür. Elde edilen bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda, kamu hastanelerinde kalite standartlarına uyulmasının hastane tercihlerinde etkili olduğu söylenebilir.
