Atasözleri insanlık tarihi boyunca yaşanılan olayların görünmesine ve geçmişin aydınlatılmasına yardımcı olan ismiyle müsemma ata mirası sözlerdir. Toplumun yaşam tarzının ve algı dünyasının analiz edilmesinde önemli veri kaynaklarıdır. Türk dünyası ve Hint alt kıtası, atasözleri noktasında ele alındığında çok zengin bir anonim dağarcığa sahiptir. Dolayısıyla Türk ve Hindistan coğrafyasında farklı dil ve lehçeler konuşulduğu göz önüne alınırsa, biz bu çalışmamızda Pakistan’da kullanılan Urdu dilinde ve Türkiye Türkçesinde yaygın olan atasözleri üzerinden “Kadın” içerikli sözleri bulmaya çalıştık. Bu araştırmada genel tarama modeli kullanılmış olup iç ve dış betimleme özellikleri incelenerek Türkçe ve Urdu dilindeki atasözleri, kadın kimliği/cinsiyet açısından incelenmiş, tespit edilebilen atasözlerinden hareketle kadın görünüşü ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Türkçe ve Urduca atasözleri belli konu başlıkları altında incelenerek bu atasözleri sınıflandırılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada her iki dildeki atasözlerinde kadın kavramı ve özellikleri ile ilgili olumlu ifadeler bulunsa da olumsuz ifadelere daha fazla yer verildiği tespit edilmiş, sonuçta çelişkili ifadelere dikkat çekilerek bu durumun kadına toplumsal alanlarda önemli bir sorun yarattığına değinilmiştir.
Proverbs are inherited expressions that help transfer experiences lived throughout history of mankind to subsequent generations and shed light on the past. Being an important component of folklore, proverbs are significant sources of data in the analysis of the lifestyle of a society and its world of perceptions. When the Turkish world and the Indian subcontinent is taken into consideration in terms of proverbs, it is observed that it possesses a very rich and anonymous repertory in this regard. Therefore, considering that different languages and dialects are spoken in Turkish and Indian geography, in this study we tried to find words containing "Woman" through proverbs common in Urdu language and Turkey Turkish. The general survey model was used in this study, and Turkish and Urdu proverbs were investigated in terms of women’s identity/gender taking into account internal and external features of description; then, an attempt was made to present a profile of woman on the basis of proverbs that were identified. Turkish and Urdu proverbs were explored under certain titles, and they were tried to be classified. This study found that although there are positive expressions concerning the concept of women and their characteristics, negative expressions outnumber them and by drawing attention to contradictory expressions in this regard, it was argued that this situation creates serious problems for women in social life.
