Ethical Violation Action Plan and Precautionary Processes

The journal encourages an approach of respect for intellectual property while protecting the original publications of Author/s. Manuscripts containing ethical violations are strictly defined as problematic and are contrary to the journal's quality standards. Therefore, Author/s are expected to comply with ethical standards and avoid plagiarism in all works submitted to the journal.

For every submitted article, a similarity report is obtained during application and the similarity rate is checked. This rate must be 20 percent and lower. If it is higher, it is sent back to the author and requested to correct the article according to the similarity report. If they arrange it, the process is initiated.

In case of a complaint or suspicion that an Author/s committed plagiarism in a published article, the Ethics Editor of the journal first examines the work. The findings of the Ethics Editor after the examination are reviewed by the Editorial Board with his/her participation. The decision taken here is communicated to the Author/s within two weeks, and they are requested to send their explanations regarding the subject in writing. The Editor-in-Chief conducts the correspondence of this process. If the authors make the necessary explanation and send it, the editorial board reconvenes for the decision and makes a decision.

If the journal does not receive any response from the author within the specified time, it contacts the institution to which the author is affiliated and requests the investigation of the allegation. According to the result of the process here, for the article confirmed to have an ethical problem, the journal removes the PDF copy of the published article from the website and republishes the article with the “RETRACTED” stamp. It informs all indexes it is included in and places deemed necessary in writing about this situation. The journal disables the account of the Author/s and does not take all future submissions of the author into evaluation for a period of 3 years.

Process of Adding the Retraction Notice:

A "retraction notice" is prepared by the journal editors. This notice clearly identifies the article by stating information such as the title, authors, and DOI of the original article. In the Notice, the cause of the ethical defect (for example, "due to ethical violation") is clearly stated, and this notice is published on the same platform (website or database) of the journal. The notice is connected to the original article with bidirectional links (hyperlinks) – that is, access is provided from the notice to the article and from the article to the notice.

The original article is not completely deleted; however, a large, visible "RETRACTED" stamp is added to the PDF version. This takes place on every page of the article or at least on the title page, ensuring that the reader sees it immediately when opening the document. A similar label is added to the HTML version.

In database updates in indexing services such as Scopus, Web of Science, or Google Scholar, the article is marked as "retracted", so this situation is indicated in search results. This ensures the article remains accessible (for transparency) but emphasizes that it is unreliable.

If the defect is not very serious (for example, if it is at the suspicion stage), a lighter notification named "Expression of Concern" may be used; this is similarly added as a notice but does not completely retract the article.
