                                                                                                <abstract><p>Türkiye’nin yerleşim alanlarının önemli bir kısmı, deprem riski yüksek Doğu Anadolu Fay (DAF) ve Kuzey Anadolu Fay (KAF) sistemleri çevresinde yoğunlaşmaktadır. Genç ve düz arazilerin tercih edilmesi, kohezyonsuz ve dolgu nitelikli zeminlerin yaygınlığıyla birleşerek afet duyarlılığını artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, 2023 Kahramanmaraş depremlerinde ağır hasar gören Adıyaman ilinin Gölbaşı ilçesi araştırma alanı olarak ele alınmıştır. İlçede yapılan arazi çalışması sonucunda yüksek hasar almış binalarda zemin sıvılaşma derecesinin belirleyici rol oynadığı tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada koşullara bağlı ağırlıklı yöntem kullanılarak Gölbaşı’nın jeolojik, jeomorfolojik ve hidrografik özelliklerinin zemin sıvılaşması ve duyarlılığı üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Saha çalışmaları ve hasar tespitleri sonucunda, özellikle fay hatları ile göl ve akarsu tabanlarının kesişim noktalarında zemin sıvılaşması ve duyarlılığının çok yüksek seviyelere ulaştığı belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, gelecekte yapılacak araştırmalar için bir analiz modeli önerilmiş ve eski göl tabanlarında zemin sıvılaşması riskini azaltabilecek yöntemler tartışılmıştır.</p></abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
                            <p>A significant portion of Turkey&#039;s settlement areas are concentrated around the Eastern Anatolian Fault (EAF) and North Anatolian Fault (NAF) systems, which have high risk of earthquakes. The preference for young and flat terrain, combined with the prevalence of cohesionless and fill-type soils, increases disaster susceptibility. In this study, the Gölbaşı district of Adıyaman province, which suffered severe damage in the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, was taken as the research area. Fieldwork conducted in the district revealed that the degree of soil liquefaction played a decisive role in buildings that suffered high damage. The study examined the effects of Gölbaşı&#039;s geological, geomorphological, and hydrographic characteristics on soil liquefaction and susceptibility using a condition-dependent weighted method. Field studies and damage assessments revealed that soil liquefaction and susceptibility reached very high levels, particularly at the intersection points of fault lines and lake and river beds. Based on the findings, an analytical model was proposed for future research, and methods to reduce the risk of soil liquefaction in old lake beds were discussed.</p></trans-abstract>
