This research aimed to investigate the relationship among the levels of professional burnout, emotional intelligence, and resilience of psychological counselors/guidance teachers. While conducting this quantitative research correlational survey model was adopted. The study group consisted of 357 psychological counselors/guidance teachers working in public schools affiliated with Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education during the spring semester of 2022-2023. Within the scope of the research, the data were obtained through the “Psychological Counselor Burnout Inventory,” “Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale,” and “Resilience Scale-Short Form.” The collected data were analyzed in the SPSS software via the multiple linear regression analysis, independent samples t-test, and Kruskal Wallis h test. The multiple regression analysis revealed that the level of burnout was significantly predicted by emotional intelligence and resilience. In addition, it was concluded that burnout levels of the study group significantly differed by gender, years of experience in the profession, school level worked at, and school kind worked at, whereas burnout levels did not significantly differ by marital status, undergraduate program, educational status, and having difficult life experiences.
Bu araştırmada temel olarak psikolojik danışman/rehber öğretmenlerin mesleki tükenmişlik düzeyleri ile duygusal zekâ ve kendini toparlama gücü arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, ilişkisel tarama modelinin temel alındığı nicel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2022-2023 bahar yarıyılında Ankara İl Millî Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı devlet okullarında görev yapmakta olan 357 psikolojik danışman/rehber öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında toplanan veriler, “Psikolojik Danışman Tükenmişlik Envanteri”, “Rotterdam Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği” ve “Kendini Toparlama Gücü Ölçeği-Kısa Formu” aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programında, çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi, ilişkisiz örneklem t-testi ve Kruskal-Wallis h-testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan çoklu regresyon analizi, mesleki tükenmişlik düzeyinin duygusal zekâ ve kendini toparlama gücü tarafından anlamlı şekilde yordandığını ortaya koymaktadır. Bunun yanında, mesleki tükenmişlik düzeyinin cinsiyet, kıdem yılı, çalışılan kademe ve çalışılan kurum türü değişkenlerine göre anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı; öte yandan medeni durum, mezun olunan lisans programı, eğitim düzeyi ve zorlu yaşam olayı deneyimleme durumu değişkenlerine göre anlamlı olarak farklılaşma göstermediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
