Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı ilköğretim öğrencilerinin (6, 7 ve 8. sınıflardaki) ebeveynlerine bağlanmaları ile
cinsiyetin birlikte kariyer gelişimlerini yordayıp yordamadığını incelemektir. Ayrıca araştırmada
ilköğretim öğrencilerinin kariyer gelişimlerini sınıf düzeyine, algılanan akademik başarıya, anne ve
babanın öğrenim düzeylerine göre incelemek de amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma grubu 199 ilköğretim (104 kız
ve 95 erkek) 6., 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada verilerin toplanmasında Ebeveyn
ve Arkadaşlara Bağlanma Ölçeği (EABÖ), Çocuklar İçin Kariyer Gelişimi Ölçeği (ÇKGÖ) ve Kişisel
Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Verileri çözümlemek için Çoklu Doğrusal Regresyon Analizi, t testi ve tek
yönlü varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. İlköğretim öğrencilerinin EABÖ’nün anneye ve babaya bağlanma alt
ölçeklerinden aldıkları puanlar ve cinsiyet birlikte ÇKGÖ puanlarına ilişkin toplam varyansın %13’ünü
açıklamıştır. Anneye bağlanma, kariyer gelişiminin en güçlü yordayıcısı olup bunu cinsiyet (kız olmak)
izlemiştir. Öğrencilerin kariyer gelişim düzeylerinin sınıf düzeyine, anne ve babanın öğrenim düzeyine ve
algılanan akademik başarıya göre anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı bulunmuştur. Sonuçlar, kariyer rehberliği
ve danışmanlığı ile gelecek araştırmalar için tartışılmıştır.

AN EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ATTACHMENT TO PARENT AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine whether attachment to parents of elementary school students (at
6th, 7th and 8th grade) predict their career development or not. In addition, the purpose of this study is to
examine career development of elementary school students according to perceived academic
achievement, grade level, education levels of mother and father. The study group consisted of 199 (104
female and 95 male) students from 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in elementary schools. Adolescent
Decision Making Questionnaire, Childhood Career Development Scale and Personal Information Form
are used to collect data. Simultaneous Multiple Regression Analysis, t test and one way ANOVA are used
to analyze data. The attachment to mother and father scales scores and gender together accounted for a
significant proportion of the variance (% 13) of the career development scores. The attachment to mother
and gender (for girls) is powerful predictors of the career development. There are significantly
differences in career development scores of the students according to the grade level, the education levels
of mother and father, and perceived academic achievement. Results for career guidance and counselling
and future studies are discussed.
