Abstract
Summary :
In this article, the use of art, especially drama in education, religion and politics and the pre-causes of “censorship in art” are discussed. When the roots of theatre, which derive from rituals, are studied, it is revealed that drama still maintains its ritualistic characteristics even it has become a branch of art. The most important of these characteristics are the functions of “transferring knowledge” and “changing the world of objects”. The control of these two social roles by the ones in power makes drama (art) something more than pure aesthetic phenomenon.
